THE SCHOOL IN THE SKY is an association based in France supporting the realisation of educational programs in the Himalayas. Its aim is to build an educational complex, a chain of schools for children in need.

Many of these children, whether Tibetan refugees, Indian or ladakhis are orphans, do not have access to any education and their ancestral culture is threatened by a poorly understood modernism as well as the situation in TIBET since the Chinese occupation.

Apart from the HUMANITARIAN purpose of helping poor children in difficulty, the SCHOOL IN THE SKY has 2 other objectives:

-preserve the sacred ancestral culture of these children
-open for them the gates of western knowledge.

At present, children of our first school in LADAKH, a desert of high altitude in northern India receive basic teachings including Tibetan, Hindi and English languages.

On this basis, intercultural exchanges with children and teachers are encouraged.
For this reason, trips to Ladakh are organised every summer if one wishes to help the first in this chain of schools or to explore the magnificent landscapes and monasteries in the region.

Thanks to its supporters and sponsors the School in the sky now has more than 120 children enrolled, medical assistance, and a larger piece of land purchased to build the large school.

Great enthusiasm has been generated to bring this project to fruition,
HELP is needed more than ever before, any kind of help is infinitely precious to these children. You can either sponsor a child or the school in general, for a small sum of 10 to 20 Pounds a month or make a donation or promote the project in any other way.
