The Cyprus Green Party , founded in 1996, aims to promote sustainable development and protection of the environment through action and legislation, information and sensitisation of the public. All proceedings are open to the public.

Action and field work today concern environmental management generally, and such matters as pollution, energy conservation, water management, GMOs, bioethics and biotechnology, bio/organic agriculture, electromagnetism, antennas, wild life, migratory birds, bio-diversity, cultural heritage, right to information, etc.

The Cyprus Greens are represented in Parliament be one MP and at local governance by five counsellors.
