talking about his forthcoming workshop
Awakening the Third Eye

on April 24th and 25th

Q: What is your workshop, ‘Awakening the Third Eye’, about?

Awakening the Third Eye is a two day workshop designed to give people an introduction to working with this energetic centre and starting a spiritual practice based on vision. As a gateway to inner worlds, everyone has a third eye so in fact we are revealing what is already there. The workshop shows how people can use their third eye in daily life. This vision and integration in daily life is an important aspect of the Clairvision style of work. It is the start of a harmonisation between who you are in the world and who you are spiritually. The workshop is actually a lot of fun as we learn to create spaces together based on the standpoint of the third eye.
Another element of the workshop is that it gives a taste of the style and flavour of the energy behind the school and from there many people get a sense of whether this style of work is right for them. One frequent comment I hear people on the first day of the workshop relating their first third eye experiences is this sense of “coming home” somehow. When people relate this experience it always, always touches me very deeply.

Q: What are some ways that you can use your third eye in daily life?

With a little practice you can use your third eye to ground yourself quickly or provide empathy for someone who is going through a difficult time. In that case it’s not about the words but more about the space you engage from your third eye.
I remember one manager I had when I worked for a company and every three months he would call me into his office for a “friendly chat”. I knew he didn’t like me and wanted to get rid of me. He was looking for an excuse. The meeting would always start off coldly but I would create this heart space and the meeting would always finish with him walking me to the door of his office with his arm around my shoulder saying: “well Pete, keep up the good work!”

Q: Do I need to have some background in meditation to attend?

Not at all! Right from the first morning you will be shown techniques that take you into deep spaces of vision together with lots of ancillary techniques to help you with the process of meditation.

It’s important when one is doing spiritual work or working on oneself to have a context to understand the experience you are having. From the first day you will start to gain a context for lots of things that happen inside yourself (that you may be conscious or unconscious of). This context is also important in coming to a greater understanding of yourself and of spiritual realities. In other words you come to greater ‘clarity’ and ‘vision’ both of yourself and the world in general.

I began meditating by learning from a book. I went on to do other forms of meditation before meeting the founder of Clairvision at a lunchtime talk. I’ve been with the school for over 20 years and everything has come to revolve around my spiritual practice. I help with the building of the school and participate as an instructor and director of the school. I frequently take time out to go and sit in meditation for long periods of time in my personal spiritual quest.

Q: What is the Clairvision School?

The Clairvision School is a school of meditation that started in 1987. The school was started by a Dr Samuel Sagan, who was doing his own spiritual practices before moving to Australia to set up the school. The school has grown slowly but now has workshops and classes being run in quite a few countries around the world. The school is about substance and direct experience, rather than beliefs. It favours depth and integrity over quick fixes and easy solutions. In terms of size, it’s still relatively small with only 600-800 students worldwide. You can read more about the Clairvision School if you refer to the school’s website www.clairvison.org

Q: Does the school have a connection with any religion?

The school has no connection with any religion and this is an important point. If people have a religious or spiritual background all we ask is that you try the practices and see what happens. The focus is to provide an experiential basis of spiritual realities. To see for yourself and know for yourself! There is certitude and knowing that develops from direct vision and experience. Instead of being swayed by what is going on around you, your decisions become based on this inner knowing. You develop the right relationship where you are in the world but not of it.

Q: Is meditation the only method the school uses to gain more clarity and vision?

As you progress with the school you gain a level of clarity and vision that also comes from having freed yourself from emotional blockages and beliefs.

The central technique the school uses to achieve this is called ISIS which is an acronym for Inner Space (of the third eye) Interactive Sourcing. You work with a colleague to discover the origin of these blockages and beliefs. The freedom this sourcing brings also has the effect where you raise the voltage of your consciousness resulting in transformation. Raising voltage and cultivating a quest for Truth is what the Clairvision School is all about.

Q: Are there options to continue with Clairvision once this course has finished?

Yes there are several options.
Firstly there are further courses in which the technique of ISIS is taught - a technique that builds up inner vision and deconstructs emotional blockages. More will be discussed at the workshop about this topic.
Secondly there are correspondence courses and books that can be ordered online that a student can work through on their own.
So all in all there are many things for those who feel attracted to this style of spiritual work or who want to investigate their spirituality.
